I would like something about equal or better, but I’d really like ffmpeg, flvtool2, AND mencode to be supported because I plan on adding a section for videos on my site. I need to have PHP support, but it would be awesome if I could have all this, plus ASP support at well. I’m looking mainly for shared hosting since it’s cheaper, but if that’s not possible, I’d appreciate links to dedicated hosting as well.

Siteground is coming up with tons of great reviews. However, I have been burnt before with another company setting up tons of fake reviews. The beauty of being an online hosting Company means you can do this I guess (not that I am accusing siteground). You need to unlock your domain inside the AOL account and you would want to start a domain transfer inside your siteground account.

You have to provide your domain’s authorization code for this to work but they should take care of everything for you once you provide them that. The authorization code should also be on the AOL account.

Assuming you have purchased your domain name. Try to type it and see that it shows like – under construction or some page or nothing at all like “domain not found”.

If Domain not found or page not found then make sure your domain is pointing to right DNS Nameservers. Usually your hosting company will let you know what nameservers to use.

In case you purchased domain from same company then it’s pre configured so all you have to do is wait for 3-5 days and then you can see your page whatever you uploaded using ftp.

If you purchased your domain from different company, you need to change dns nameservers provided by siteground.

As a simple test to see if your domain is configured and is working, all you can do is upload only 1 page called index.htm or index.html under public_html folder. (make sure you are putting in correct folder and you don’t need 2 files with same name, you can have only 1 index.htm or .html either will do)

If this page doesn’t show up after 5 days of purchasing when you type your domain url then email sitegound’s support asking for correct nameservers.

FTP: if you are not familiar with using ftp then you can also use “file manager” provided in your cpanel. It is very easy to use.

To access cpanel all you have to do is type your domain followed by cpanel in case your siteground provideds you with cpanel access.
eg: www.mydomain.com/cpanel

This requires you to enter your user name and password that you use on ftp software.
